Does anyone know how to add music to your myspace profile?
I have been trying, but can't work it out.

when on myspace, go to music and then search. Then type the name of the artist or song and when you find it click add to profile

Hmm. for some reason it just seems to take me to the artists profile. But I will keep trying!

I tried adding a song to my profile. It's very difficult because add and download are on the same line. I guess with some luck with the jaws curser?

That's the onlyreason I could think of for not joining Myspace, and I've been a user for almost three years. Blind folks have been asking, quitee politely and reasonably I might add, that Myspace be made a little more blind friendly. Fortunately with Web Visum the Captchas are no longer much of an issue but there are other aspects of the site that I and many others would love to be able to use. But Myspace's response upon receiving one of these requests is a vague "we're working on it." I'd actually delete my profile but for the fact that Myspace actually suits my needs. One downside to the Zone is that I've never found anyone in my area, whereas with Myspace there are many folks here. And I've also reconnected with several High School friends that I'd lose contact with if I quit Myspace. Overall it's a great site but expect it to frustrate the living bejesus out of you from time to time.

you actually got a response from myspace? When i emailed them about the capture thing when creating an account for my band all the reply said was to create a music profile click here and instructiosn on how to do it .. My friend had the same issue when creating a film profile for his film/production company .. he tried to put the age of the company whihas only been around for 2 years and they blocked him and said you must be 13 years old to sign up for myspace lol.. and their reply to his email.. click here to create a film maker account followed by instructions.

the age old thing applies here. when blind users are less than 1% of the myspace population making the site more accessable isn't very high on the priorty list .. and unfortunately the spammers greatly outnumber us.

Yep, I got the vague "we're working on it" response. Other times they would send me instructions on how to add color to my profile or to make the Captchas larger so I could see them better. Needless to say that made absolutely no sense. As for blind users being less than one percent of the Myspace community, that's probably due to the very refusal of Myspace to actually do anything about the accessibility problem. There was actually a petition created almost three years ago that got quite a few signatures. Myspace's response was the vague "we're working on it."

Well it wasn't designed for the blind necessarily but it's workable with some possible conditions. Nothing major really, you just hae to have a cell phone and be willing to submit your number. But if you're willing to do that you can eliminate all Captchas when you navigate Myspace, presumably after you log in. What you do is enter your cell number and your carrier and they'll send you a text message with a 5-digit code. You nter this code into an edit box and submit it and from then on you'll be Captcha free when you log into Myspace. Normally I wouldn't have done it but I got so sick of those Captchas I felt it was worth a try, especially since as good as Web Visum is sometimes it does get stumped by a Captcha.
